Hello,
can you help me with this AK74.
The scabbard has the Izhevsk Broad in triangle.
The Bayonet has at the crossguard
the number 11 in oval ring and CB ? in a lozenge.
Under the muzzle ring i found another arrow.
On the grip: 8/1
Isn´t the 11 a marking of Poland?
On the scabbard are also 21 Notches.(= 21 Kills??)
On the sheath stands somewhat in Russian written.(scratched)

Thanks for your help, Heiko

Araldis,

Although this bayonet also fits AK-74 but it is usually refer as an AKM Type 2. This bayonet is Russian, the Izhmash factory stamp clearly reflect this.

You are correct that 11 inside oval represent Polish Radom factory, but in this case it is a Russian inspection stamp, this bayonet is very possibly a rework.

Hope this helps.

Keith

Thanks Tim, thanks Keith,
i thougt at first it was Russian but
i miss the two rivets in the crossguard.
I found this text:
"This is the standard Polish late style bayonet, issued with AKMS and Wz.88 rifles. It has most of the characteristics of Soviet standard pattern, however, most examples do not have the sawtooth blade and are smooth on the backside of the blade. Some examples have the unique "11-in-circle" ****nal code insignia stamped into the metal crossbar of the hilt, but these must be quite rare. This mark should not be confused with an early Russian proof mark stanmping which is often referred to as the "11-in-Racetrack."

Does i have the early Polish style???

The scabbard is def. Russian.
Arrow and "OTK 4" inspection stamp code for Izhevsk.

Thanks Heiko

Hello Heiko,

The Poles do not have sawbacks. Your bayonet is definitely Russian. I look at your pic once again and actually found signs of rework with inspection stamp on muzzle ring too. These CB inside diamond inspection mark is unique to Russian.
