Greetings, a friend showed me an officers dagger style knot that I have not seen before and my references are sorely lacking on knot info. This particular piece has what appears to be bronze/brown threads woven into the stem, slide and the cord. Also on the ball there are at least four of the cords raised up (evenly seperated), appears purposfull. Any thoughts?

I feel it is nothing more than a case of wear and tear. Old age worn.
