Typical fake Bob. Probably all real parts but a fake etch. There are several types around. There are only two known originals-one by HOLLER can be found in one of the early Johnson books. These came out in about the 70's-maybe a little before or after. Many are in collections-one shows up on Ebay every once in a while and usually fools someone into paying big for it. There is one in the 2nd volume of Repro/Reco.

Thats what i thought
it's in Germany. The person kows the owner of it and thought i might be interested in it.
I told him that i didn't like it but that i would ask a few others that are into these and find out for sure.

Bob,
I was also offered a similar piece about 5 years ago. The piece was also a Pack but had a different city on the obverse etch.
The stag on yours has a funny color although it may be the picture, I don't like the look of rivets either.

I think we can all agree it's a bayonet not accorded typical E. Pack & Sohne traits. These poor example police etches continue to show up with different makers and hilt types. I know at a show it's a very easy thing to want the bayonet etch to be "real". What one might do is to take a look at a real pre-45 etch Eickhorn, Pack it doesn't matter then compare those beautiful etch designs and detail (with frosted backround) to the police example seen here. The difference is easy to see. But I know it can be difficult....take care
