Hi guys,

I'am urgently needing some advice on this hirschfanger which is currently being offered to me for sale. I have no real experience with these, but more the 3rd reich SA's, armies etc.
I hope you can have a look at the pics and tell me if its all good and original. Maybe you could also supply me with a value estimate???
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Peter

Kind regards,

Peter Jan

Dutchy, I would be extremely careful on this particular piece. It bears the overall configuration of well known fakes. All what I can see (e.g. the look of the cast fittings, the stag where the grip was made to fit, the inscription, the etched DJ-emblem and the gilt DJ-emblem) let me think of a postwar made Hirschfänger.
But as mostly a careful in hand inspection would be necessary to make a sure statement.

Absolute Fake. The ADJV--who is supposed to be the presenting organization was long gone by 1937. Then --there is also a conflict as to who is the presenter on the reverse side. Stupid mistakes here really. There are also other mistakes and red flags but those are enough to condemn it.

Thanks guys for the advice. I had a bad gut feeling about it. That's kind of why I decided to post the pics.
I will decline to buy...

Peter
