Gentlemen, I'm very pleased to show you one of my favotite SA's, being one of the best conditioned SA that I've ever owned. It also rates as a 9 on the McSarr SA rarity scale. I always say to myself that this one will be my last SA dagger..............but I just can't. How could I say no !

I guess I better post pics. of Pats Alter ego before someone get the wrong idea! The only item showing wear is the strap for the vertical hanger: However the hanger is staying since the original owner personalized it with his name "Hembuchlin" on the back:

The rest of the dagger is in remarkable condition for around 70 years. The blade for example just shows runner marks. I had to pry this one back out a prominent dealers hands who spotted it in my collection when visiting here awhile back:

Boy, those are pretty close to perfect daggers, especially when you consider that the hand is holding up what I interpret as a glass of rum! Mike

For a couple of you who have asked. Yes there are several things I could do to upgrade the apearance of my NSKK. For example. Re-dying the vertical hanger to make it look "mint" would create an immediate visual improvement. Gently polishing the metal would give it gleam albiet a new looking gleam to me to me that I can live without. There's nothing IMO anyone could do to improve the grip which is just about as perfect as the day it was made. All in all I prefer it the way I got it and will probably leave it this way. Jim

Keep the coming. What's amazing to me is there are so many nice ones around after all these years. This to me speaks reams about German quality and the fact that many Vets thought enoungh of these relics to put them away in virtually untouched condition. IMO We should all be honored to receive these items.
I wish my photographic skills were better. The Ohliger I pictured above has virtually all it's crossgraining remaining. I just don't have the ability to show it. Jim
