The short PanzerJacke was worn with breeches and riding boots by Officers,as many period photos prove. I believe it was non-regulation as the effect was,in my opinion, not very elegant but rather comical.

Wear of the "wrap" with breeches is fairly easy to find in the photographic record. As already stated it was the officers who seemed to have this tendency.
A notable Army "Tiger" Battalion commander, (whose wrap was recently purchased by a collector..pictures shown on the "other" forum) Seems almost never to have worn panzer pants, but wore field gray breeches w/ the black wrap.
Wilhelm Schmalz, Commander of the Hermann Goring Division (and later HG Korps) often wore a wrap..always with breeches.
Best, John

Although the black Pz uniform was considered a "working" uniform and not a dress or going-out uniform it became increasingly popular. Officers even wore daggers with the uniform.
