Hey guys need your help here wanted to know what these numbers on the helmet ment and if they are anything good. The helmet size on the helmet is Q64, then twards the middle of the helmet there is a number that is IN200 , my question is what does that mean batch number? maker mark ? and also i took a flash light and was looking on the outside of the liner and found thise number as well its 64NA then underneath that is a 56. So help me out here guys on what these numbers mean, thanks alot

OK Q64 = Manufacturer is Quist. Size 64 cm shell IN200 = batch number of the steel planchets from which this helmet was produced. 64NA over 56 = liner band size 64 cm NA = Neuer Art (i.e. new style) The 56 is the head size with the leather installed. Cheers, Mike

are these numbers good for this helmet ? Are they common numbers or rare, how bout the manufacturer is it a common one ?

There is nothing uncommon about any of these numbers. Size 64 is the most commonly found shell size and Quist is considered by many to be one of the better shells. It is not, however, an uncommon make. You need to invest in a good solid reference book. I would recommend you locate a copy of Ludwig Baer's book History of the German Helmet 1916 - 1945
