Saw this recently on another forum. Did these come as 9 year as well as 3 year?

Cheers
Don

Thanks Houston, I knew that you would know. You really should write a book on these. Cool

Cheers
Don

Well--there are not that many that care Don. I have most of them and one period book that shows them. The 9 year was made ans stored for issue but never issued as the first year for these was 1938-and the last ones being made in 1944 for the last event. I don't recall ever seeing any shooting badge for 1945.

That's true, I think that we collectors of these are a rare breed.

Do you mind letting me know which period book shows them so that I may keep an eye out for them?

Cheers
Don

Houston, you should do a small pamphlet on these and it would sell. Unfortunately for the collector, once a pamphlet is done, the price will take off.

Don the period book is a small illustrated paperback from the 1943 event. It is the only one I have ever seen. Some of them are shown in the current D. Niemann Medal book. Also-you might want to know that these came in miniature form also. They are so small and hard to read that they are often overlooked for the rare items they are. Also most don't know what they are anyway-just another shooting badge Big Grin Razz
