Hi,haven't been posting in a while here so here's a recent addiction to my collection. It's a minty hkp DD police size 64 I've been searching for a while. It's been issued and named but actually did not see much action In my experience this maker is a bit tougher to see around than the most commonly found EF. The set of decals is the kind I expect to usually see on late war police lids. Before deciding the purchase I wanted to check it well cause it has the misprinted kind of svaz (a couple of sites sell helmets with more or less sloppily reapplied decals, this variant included, by the dozens since there still are many unapplied originals around). And there are not many original hkp police around in my knowledge to refer to. But luckily this is not the case. ciao Mario

Very nice indeed. I am awaiting the arrival of a well-worn cousin of your helmet and hope to post it in a few weeks.

Very NICE Mario! Well, one would have a hard time trying to upgrade this one, just look at that liner. You are correct, the M42 is harder to find, esp. with this maker.
The misalignment was cause by the printing process, not the application of the decal. In printing this is called "misregestration"
These decals were printed in layers with white being the base, then a double "bump" of red, (actually more of an orange), next the black. In this case it was more inportaint to center the swastika in the white area rather than the border of the red shield.
This diffinately does not distract from this one being a real beauty!
Cheers, Marcus
