Greetings All,

Attached are pictures of Revel's 1:72 Messerschmitt ME 262 A-1a. I put this together last winter, but only just now captured the photos.

It's been several decades since I did any scale military modeling from kits, so this example might as well be my first attempt. Not certain how many future projects I'll be able to tackle, given the investment of time required to do it right.

Nevertheless, as I was inspired by some of the great modeling projects on display in this forum, I thought I would submit my own efforts for collective interest.

Anyone else have recent projects to share? Would naturally be curious to see more images from some of the other modeling hobbyists out there.

Regards,

B.A.Vierling

Nice job with the attention to detail on the model and photography.
Especially like the angle and lighting of photo #1 (looks real) and your choice of hand done lettering in photo #4.

Very nice. I have messed around with models since I was a kid. I assume you use an airbrush for the painting?

Thanks for the kind words Gentlemen!

Dean, in some ways I had more fun taking the pictures than building the model!

Timboo, I would have undoubtedly saved myself a lot of time and grief if I had used an airbrush, but I did it all by hand. Lots of sanding between coats with micro-fine paper. The camouflaging on the underside of the chassis was a real challenge to effectively render with brushes (I also used a q-tip to insinuate discoloration and soot), and is unfortunately the weakest link in the presentation.

Would like to do a submarine next, but that will have to wait until I can allocate the time.

Anyone else have photos of their model making endeavors to share?

Thanks again,

B.A.Vierling
