Hi all,

sorry for being so often away, I hope that I can share more time with all of you from very soon on.

I haven't been into collecting for a while.

I'm on treasure hunting again Smile)))))

I'll probably buy a walther ppk with rzm and pol. leiter grips.

it has also a nickled slide and possibly waffenamt stamps which would be surprising to me. but this is not sure, the owner is on holiday and hasn't taken it along.

what seems sure is the nickled slide, the rzm in a circle and the grips which I can identify.

I am not looking for authentication, I can do this myself.

I just wonder what it is.

rzm and pol. leiter grips are shown in my party organisationsbuch from 35 if I'm right.

if it's rzm marked and authentic it may be a private purchase.

if the grips are also authentic I wonder if it may be an awarded gun that matches, grips, serial number and rzm.

the fact that it has a nickled slide makes me think that it may be an awarded gun for a high ranking SA chief.

It is not engraved like the one which I have found three years ago.

what are your thoughts?

I have also posted a thread on the award forum and of course at our friend's fire arms forum

thanks

Hi Thor, No RZM PPK's were ever chromed. This was done post war. There are some RZM's that had PL grips but most did not. Some think the grips were added after 1938 by the PL but it is hard to prove. The PPK RZM started out as the servive pistol of the PL's but later could be termed an Honor Pistol. The PPK pictured in the 1935 NSDAP Organizational book is of a plain PPK with no markings. I hope this answers some of your questions. Best, Erich
