Can anyone give me any info about this tunic? I would like to know when it was made and who would have worn it, also what insignia would be needed to complete it. Thanks

Hello,
Your tunic appears to be that of the feuerwehr, or volunteer/career firemen. This type of tunic has been used from before the war to the present, so without date stamps or other markings these are really difficult to date.It appears to be consistant with period use.
If a war time tunic it would have collar tabs in carmine, as well a a carmine police eagle. It is fitted with senior nco boards for the rank of "meister".
If there is no evidence of any eagle having been sewn down to the sleeve, nor collar tabs having been applied then I would assume this is post war. If old sewing holes can be seen it can be easily restored as fire department insignia is readily available.
Regards, Bill Unland
