Hi Gary,

I have a couple of pair of these. I always thought they were postwar Police. Mine are cardboard backed, are yours?

Here is another unissued slightly different pair without piping. These have black stripes in the center of the litzen.

Mine have the correct buckram backing, I believe the silver twist are good but the others shown dont look like they have the correct slope on the edges for war time. But if George's are war time I would have thought these had come off a waffenrock NCO jacket and not police related, and I have never seen anything like Daves.

I also have a half size pair that I do believe are post war, cannot see any reason for them being so small.

Guys,

Here is a set of the smaller size collar litzen, with black backing, on a postwar Berlin Police tunic. These have almost no slant and are black backed. Some postwar tabs that I have seen do have a minor slope (as Gary talks about) that seem to be for the postwar open collar tunics. The ones with a more pronounced slant on the ends seem to be for a closed collar tunic. Of course late 40s tunics had closed collars like the war time ones. I think the ones that Dave shows are surely postwar.
