I found this one this weekend. Paid more than I wanted to but it was worth it. The number on the star and box match 6683. Named to a Joseph Nelligan. Too bad I dont have the top of the box for the silver star. The star is made by bailey banks and biddle. Dated on the box 8-29-32. It is not my thing but I will run with it. I wonder what kind of hell he went though in those campaigns on the wwi victory medal.

What a nice set! Of beautiful and historic medals.
Thankfully you have the bottom of the SS box.

The closest unit I could find with those clasps is the 28th Div, 53rd Artillery. But they didn't have the defensive sector clasp. Let us know what you find out in your research!

I put it on the american forum this is what I got

Joseph "Joe" Nelligan, Battery F, 109th Field Artillery, 28th Division. He appears in Pennsylvania in the World War (1921) as receiving the Croix de Guerre. I expect the medals relate to Oct. 2-4 1918 for Battery F's fighting at Apremont. You might try to lay your hands on a copy of Narrative history of the 109th field artillery, Pennsylvania national guard, 1775-1930, Author: William Henry Zierdt
Publisher: Wilkes-Barre?, Pa., Printed for the Society by the E.B. Yordy Co., 1932

Try Vol. IV pg. 320 of The Twenty-Eighth Division in The World War. Search 28th division under "Texts" at archive.org . There is a photo of Battery F on pgs 236-237. Entire 109th pgs 206-207. Couldn't find an individual headshot of him but the way the book is set up online, I could have missed it... Scott

I know a guy that has that 5 volume set. I have to buy him dinner to find out more.
