Dear Joe,
Who would wear black tabs? Luftschutzpolizei?

AHHHH, of course. I forgot about those very rare few. But I think LSP officers of the ruble removal branch would also use black, but I could be wrong.

Is there any distinguishing feature that make these Police and not Army Pionier (Waffenrock) tabs?

Dear Raymond,
The silver centers. Army would have black center threads in the litzen.

Thanks Bill. I didn't think of the centers of the litzen, just the backing material. I looked at the 2 Pionier Waffenrocks and both have the black centers. I'll have to remember that.
