Hopefully this can be identified..I've had it hanging on the wall of my shop for about 30 years. Scabbard long gone..There are no markings on blade. It has 33.5 long blade.Black handle.
2 questions,,What is it,,and are scabbards available? , thanks, G.

Hello Gaspare,
Looks like a Army NCO sword,I'm not sure about the eagle and swas maybe some else will have more info for you. Scabbards are available I seen one on ebay the other day, or you can post an add under general interest in the "wanted" forum. You would need to measure the blade length and post it in the add as well as your email address and the price you are willing to pay. Just guessing but $100-$125.00 is not unreasonable for a undented scabbard with original paint, Someone please correct me if i'm wrong.

*thanks Eric.. *Dale, I guess its real  ..Theres nothing behind where the eagle is, no evidence of pinning..The eagle is on securely though,,theres no spot where you could slide a .002 feeler gage between the eagle and where its mounted in to. Kind of looks one piece. I'll try and get a better photo.. Probably not worth anything but I've had it a long time. I'll try giving it a mild cleaning and will search for a 33.5 inch scabbard..,G.

I suspect that it is an early P.D. L�neschlo� product. The unusual helmet trademark, however, is one that I haven`t seen before.

Guys thanks for the help... Also thanks to those who emailed me.
O.K. seems its a pre war sword. Maybe the owner had the eagle professionally added on or custom ordered during the early days of the 3rd.Reich as it seems the eagle was silvered at the same time the handle was..Thanks again..,G.

Hi Gaspare,
I believe the helmet trademark on your sword is a distributor mark rather than a manufacturer. Here is a picture of a KS98 bayonet. Don't know what the W.F.P. stands for, but it's a seldom seen mark. Interestingly, the helmet logo appears to be a fireman's helmet but has never been reported (to my knowledge) on a FW bayo.

In my opinion it�s rather a makermark than a distributor. Normally the maker marks were already on the blade before assembling and therefore it happens due to the position that they came down under the eagle�s plate.
Distributor�s marks commonly are applied after assembling (mainly in house of the distributor) and therefore I would not expect them at this certain position this one has been applied (on the sabre).
Just my thoughts.

You've brought up a very good point that I hadn't thought about. That mark couldn't have been applied under the langet without disassembling the sword. Although this mark has been generally thought of as a distributor mark, this definately makes me doubt that. Hopefully, some definate info on who W.F.P. was, will come to light some day.
