Greetings, I have had this helmet for a while and have never been able to ID the unit. It is on a British mfg'd shell, but appears to have the GHQ-AEF insignia worked into the design so it is most likely an AEF/US affiliated unit. Please, if anyone can ID this, thank you very much,

Did a search, no luck so far. Was thinking Aero Bombardment group? Is it a bomb or a shell?

According to a friend it is unknown to Him also. Could be US or British, Aero related or AAA related. ? Interesting though! --dj--Joe

I have found nothing solid either. One other theory is an aerial artillery observer.

I think it must be AA related as you can clearly see a driving band on the shell
