This is one of those daggers that comes along once in a lifetime. Ground Rohm by Haenel that has had the back of the blade factory ground and had the SS motto etched over the area. Average conditon, but still nice and out of the old collection Tom & I bought last week.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL! Over the years I have encountered a few SA Ground Rohm's where an addition to the ground area was used for personal or presentations. Most are script hand engraved (some collectors won't accept these, but I have gotten them directly from the returning veteran at a normal SA Dagger price, so you know they were not post war done) and a few have been either factory engraved/etched either during manufacture (rare) or post manufacture in Germany. I sometimes think this was done to obliterate the offensive Rohm inscription in the mind of the Rohm receipant. JMO, Ron Weinand

It seems like the owner wanted to enhance his loyalty to the victorious faction. "Meine Ehre heit Treue" was a quite smart choice, not only because of the meaning, but also as a sign of "solidarity" with the SS. Great piece of history (and it's a collectors' favourite HAENEL).
