Hello, I have a question about RAD hewers. Did all of them had burnishing factory applied on their fittings?

I've just acquired a hewer without any trace of burnishing. No remnant, even under magnification. So I wonder, is this a really thorough cleaning job, or is it possible that this dagger never had any blackening?

Thanks for your help Smile

As far as I'm aware, all should have burnishing. I suppose its plausable that one slipped through.. but my opinion is that it's just been cleaned up. Perhaps had light burnishing to begin with, etc.

Nice dagger though.

I agree with Tyrel to my knowledge and please somebody correct me if I am wrong -all rad Em hewers had the burnishing also the hilt - scabbard fittings and blade all had a matt (dull) finish.

Thanks guys!

Upon closer inspection, I did find traces of metal polish in the recess areas of the decorative lines. I guess some well-meaning individual carefully cleaned away all the burnishing from this hewer.

My message to collectors: leave those fittings alone!
