Bernd,
Nice pin you found there, super design. These soft-metal types offer the collector an almost endless variety to choose from at very fair prices.
If you'd like to clean it just a bit, a dip in sudsy-ammonia and a gentle brushing with an artists brush should remove all the caked-in dirt without effecting any of the color or patina. Dry it with a hair-dryer and give it a spritz of WD-40 and it will look like the day it was made.
Does anyone know exactly what type of metal these decorations were made of? They look like some type of lead-based alloy?
Best regards!
Bill

Bernd, Here's another example of the same style of casting that has that rough-finish reverse. This one reads, "Jagdschutzverein L.V. Baden." Photos courtesy of the Saufangerkid, aka Baz69. Bill

Doug, Very nice pin, I sure would have bought that if I had seen it. Nice score,
One of my favourites Bill.
