Here are two unmarked 1938 pins. As with the 1934's there are noticable differences, especially with the leaves of the wreath.

In fact I categorise these into three types: semi cut leaves, fully cut leaves & uncut leaves.

It appears that the leaves on all three 34's are different, your two and my one. I keep jumping back and forth between my example and your Hoffst�tter trying to discern if they are different or the same.
What do you think Don?

No. H�sken lists a '37 but doesn't illustrate it. I have however seen images of a '39 which H�sken doesn't mention at all! Cheers Don

They are different Joe. I've put the two toghether below, look at the top leaf on either side, a definite cut out compared to the Hoffst�tter. Another maker I'd say.

Very good thread Joe. Question, is the DDAC part of the NSKK or maybe a smaller entity of them or is this group soley on there own and not connected to the NSKK.

The DDAC was a seperate entity soley for owners of private cars, similar to the British AA & RAC & the US AAA. It's president however was an NSKK Standartenf�hrer, Freiherr G�nther von Egloffstein.
Although they were seperate organisations the NSKK & DDAC often held joint rallies & events. Therefore badges & trophies can be found carrying both emblems

Came a cross a Deschler marked piece recently. I've lightened the reverse so the mark is a little more visible.
A point of interest. I'm not sure how many of you have noticed that where maker marks are usually raised. Apart from regulation RZM pieces like party badges, Deschler virtually always impressed or stamped their mark....

Be careful, just got this from a copy shop for a couple of �'s. In this condition it wouldn't fool anyone but once aged.... I deliberately picked one up with a misplaced pin as it gave a clearer view of the maker...

Bringing this one up again for anyone interested. Came across another maker for the 1934, G. Danner, M�hlhausen, Th�r
Due to the limitations of the dept of field from my scanner, the makermark is far chrisper than shown in the scan.

That's a fine example Don. I don't recall having seen that maker more than once before on some other item. Congrats on a good find.

Hello,
I know this is really a thread about DDAC badges but I hope no one minds me putting in a picture of a DDAC flag that I picked up a while ago. I had never seen one for sale before so I decided to pick it up when I saw it. The one picture just kind of give you the idea of the size of this flag. Roughly 17ft by 7 ft at it's widest point on the hoist end. I would imagine this would have been flown at racing events and the like. I also have a few plaques which I would be glad to show if anyone cares to see them. Regarding the flag if it doesn't fit in with the thread please remove

Here are 3 plaques I have. I'm sorry I didn't take German in high school so these are rough translations...very rough translations probably. The first one is probably for some sort of qualifying race, the second one I believe is a membership plaque and the third is I believe awarded for recognition for a sporting event during the olympics. Please feel free to correct my translations regarding what these items where for if need be. thanks for looking

Hello Don & Gaspare,
sorry for the delayed response. Don, it does make a cool bedspread for sure and I also love not only the DDAC non portables but all types. They are so varied and artistic that there's always another one to acquire. And Gaspare, yes my understanding is that the center oval enamel plaque would be attached to the member's automobile. Again, I thank you both for your replies. Comments coming from accomplished and knowledgeable collectors such as yourselves is appreciated.

Hello Joe,
again sorry for the belated response. I would think it might be a grill emblem perhaps being that I don't think it would be a membership plaque for attachment to a door but who knows. I guess it could have been just an award plaque that had holes drilled into it to be attached to a wooden plaque or something, but again this is all a guess.
