Got some new photos (after all police was very very few in the last time ) They are dated 1921 and made in Hamburg-Altona (maybe that helps)     Now what I want to know - what is that badge on top of the visor-hat ?   Thanks in advance for Your comments Kind regards Robert

Robert,
Very nice photos. The cap device is the Hamburger Wappen. It shows the three towered city gate and was used from about 1875 until it was replaced with the Nationale ****ade during the NS Zeit. It was also used after 1945 and is still in use by the Hamburg Polizei today as far as I know.

Hello George, thanks a lot for the info. I know the Hamburger Wappen but could not recognize it on these cap devices. I am a bavarian and Hamburg is far far away  Kind regards Robert
