I am new to this group and am looking to identify and value a couple gorgets I just purchased from a WWII vet. Any help would be appreciated. The first is very heavy and the chain has Oak leaves and an Eagle on the swastica alternating. The second one is lighter and says Kommandantur. They are both marked C.E.Juncker Berlin.

If these are genuine you have a couple of very, very rare and nice gorgets.
The one with the eagle and flags is a 1936-introduced Army Flagbearers gorget. The back should be covered in dark green wool.
The other gorget was introduced in 1937, and was used by the street guard of the commanding officer of a particular area. The number relates to the area. The Juncker name should be on the centre prong of both

They are exactly as you describe them including the felt and mark. He kept them wrapped in a flag in trunk since 1945. I will add some photos of the flags and pins that I got from him later.

Thank you for the info.

welcome to the forum daviddavisantiques. These are super pieces if authentic! Nice but not SS.

You might get better responses from one of the other forums here :
*Armed Forces Uniform Forum
*Miscellaneous Militaria and Regalia Forum

You might want to check the main body and chains if they are magnetic, also list any markings. The more info given [and good photos!] the better response you'll get...thanks ,G.

These things are quite specialised and although I have a couple I have never seen, let alone handled any as scarce as the ones you have.
They certainly look good(maybe too good?)but I'm sorry I cannot be more helpful.

The first day I put it on I had someone who said he would give me $200 and then yesterday someone said they would pay $2750. I dont want to sell it at this time I would just like to find out its true value.

Well the army standarte gorget is worth $4000.00 - $6000.00.The other one is kind of an odd ball and I am not sure what the right person at the right time might pay for it.Do not clean or polish them.

Guys, you have to stop being unpaid appraisers for antique dealers. If he wants an evaluation, let him pay for it!

I doubt he would be giving you any breaks for pricing his items..

If he or anyone else wants to sell, let them purchase a membership to post in our 'FOR SALE' section, and it will help fund the site.
