Hi I recently purchased a nice untouched Voos Luft sword. The only problem is that ALL of the leather is missing from the scabbard. How much would this type of restoration cost and is there anyone on this forum that can do that sort of repair? Thank You!

Your images are 72 dpi and very small. Try increasing the size before loading

And you can get an original scabbard shell with original leather from Tom Johnson. All you have to do is install your fittings.

Vern Thanks for the tips! I looked at Johnson's parts site I see he has a scabbard shell at a good price however, It is 31 5/8 in long. The scabbard I have is exactly 30 inches ?? . Do Luft swords come in different lengths?

I know that SS and Army swords can in different lengths and I suppose Luftwaffe too.
A longer shell should not be a major problem.

Dave, thanks. I'll consider that slightly larger shell.

Yes they do. You will need to trim the top of the shell to the correct original size. The fittings usually go on fairly easily. I've done quite a few and it is a simple job to trim and fit. And you have an original shell with original leather And your photos are still way small. This one was only 8K. They can be up to 75K.
