First off, great to see this forum included. It should generate lots of interest. Although this post is a medal related one I feel that it would be equal here for its significance relating to the fallschirmjager. My example here is a heavy, early, unmarked one. Maker is unknown and the craftmenship is really outstanding.

I sorry to say that I do not believe your 'A' marked badge to be original, same goes for the case too, unfortunately.
Here's how a genuine 'A' should look when tombac.

Richard this badge was bought 20yrs ago so it could be NG references were at that time not what they are today. When it was purchased it was OK by 3 better collector on L.I.N.Y.,but as I said that was a long time ago.Case I never trust any of them. Thanks for the info it still displays nice and thats what it will be.

Anyone have a theory as to what company made this one? The way the eagle's head goes well-past the wreath, makes it almost look like the eagle was re-mounted on the wreath. No maker markings on the reverse. Quality construction and materials-note how the top of the pin cants to the side. 501st PIR vet bring-back. Acquired from his son after the vet died, so no further details available-
