Here are some photos from the first day at the SOS show as well as late night parties...
After Hotel Security giving us numerous warnings for loud and obnoxious partying and Matt trying to bribe the guard with Larry's hard earned money, Erik and I are back in our room.
Some REALLY serious helmet action going on today. Larry brought helmets with net value in excess of most GNP for many 3rd world nations.
First photo showing The Ruptured Duck's stand.

Great pictures Stephan - to those of us unable to make it - it is great to get a visual sense of what was missed.

Is this Sting? Fooled ya! No it's Erich Wahl! Met both him and his dad and I have to say I'm happy to have both met them and share a last name with them, if only Wahl being my "tribute on-line handle". Great people!

At 70KB, I think we are each assigned one pixel per face in this group photo. If you use your imaginaion, you can certainly tell who is there though.
A few drinks after the show.

Sure wish I could have been there again this year. Although I am not in a position to buy anything at the moment it would have been nice to see everyone again and to meet some new faces...like Stephan, etc.
I may be out of the loop here but is Larry M. selling all his helmets??
Cheers,
Darryl

Hi guys, I did sell my helmets in a record time. I have one left. I figure it will be the start of the next collection if there ever is one. Larry

Thanks for the warm thoughts Darryl. I was a little disappointed when I found out you were Absent Without Leave from the SOS. We'd have a couple topics of interest to discuse. I'll be there again next year so we can save it for then. quote: Originally posted by darryl: Sure wish I could have been there again this year. The helmet doctor is Dr. Wiseman out of Tennessee..He is a gastroenterologist out of Knoxville I believe. He is a super nice guy and had lots of nice helmets that disappeared before they hit the table. A couple of Russian guys behind me bought a camo paratrooper helmet for 8000 bucks in the first 20 seconds. He did have some duds on his table..A couple of SS helmets I thought were decent didn't pass the experts' opinions. I guess at one time, Doctor Wiseman had around 2200 helmets. He is thinning out his collection to around 300 is what he said. I don't have a clue where someone would put 2200 helmets, but his father in law said that most were stacked 3 high...yikes!!!!
