here's a short sword I don't recall seeing before, which I guess is european, maybe 1840s-1870s...
with the rounded (unmarked) nickel blade and sawteeth, I thought medic (cut branches for splints, etc.) or combat engineers. I hope someone can say I've struck the jackpot, of course!
help much appreciated.

this is a german firemans' bayonet from about 1900.
there are several similar designs by diff. makers. some are pointy, some not, some have grip devices, some not....
