Here's a beautiful 97% 1942 Mauser "Banner", Rural Police. Two matching magazines. Original 1939 Police marked Brown Holster, proper unmarked tool. Even better than the photos.

Absolutely beautifull pistol - how would you identify a pistol as "rural police" - I know that you are the expert in this area.

The Police holster is brown-only worn by the Rural Police. Magazines are marked 2 and 3. Only the rural police were issued 3 magazines. The rig was bought from the vet's family

You are a very lucky man - that is one of the best looking luger rigs I have ever seen

Great police rig Houston. Love the rural models.
Being out in the country the rural police administration must have felt that "backup" would be quite a distance away, so they issued the extra mag to their officers.

I have always wondered if there was a Rural Police brown leather single pouch for the extra mag--one would think there was one--but I have never seen one. Anyone have one?

I have seen period photographs of Weimar era Schupos wearing the LP08 double mag pouches on their waist belts.I provided such a photo to Jan Still for his Weimar Lugers volume. I had an example in brown leather similarly modified for wear on a waist belt.
