Hello Fellow Members:

A new member (weazer) would like for our members to offer opinions on these pieces that he picked up at a yard sale.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all very much in advance.

The bayonet with a frog is Japanese. The other is an Imperial period S98 from a Reserve Guard regiment. Nice yard sale buys.

Very nice, though show more of the Garde marked job; one I am actually missing, and looks better than the others I have on file- "so far" these seem to be all 1899 Erfurt's and yours so far looks undinkered with which is a huge plus (as is the sawback feature which is highly prized!)- most dopey sob's put the cleaning whammy to them... so if you do have a need to clean it do it properly as it looks right now quite worthwhile?
A couple I've seen look so bright they could pass for a presentation piece- essentially 1/3 the value towards what it might have been.

Yours being apparently totally original (grips and blade can make or break here- clarity of markings, sharpening etc..), a sawback, and Garde marked make it top fare- you have a $400 plus bayo if all else is righteous (imo).
