Hope you can help me with this - I have what I think is an early SA or maybe political belt. The gilt buckle is pebbled on the obverse, and marked DRGM on the plain reverse. The belt has two cross-strap loops attached, with the D rings being pebbled on one side but not marked, and they also appear to be gilt.
Also attached is part of a 3 piece dagger hanger - the strap which goes around the grip for vertical wear.
The hanger and belt loops are all riveted.
The belt itself is dark brown and is 4.3cm or 1 3/4 inch wide.
Any info on this belt would be appreciated.
Regards Russell

Can anyone confirm what I have here or offer any info or opinion?
Would this have been worn with a matching gilt cross-srap? Regards Russell

The belt being brown,w/gold hardware.
For a navel leader SA uniform and yes it would had a crossstrap.I have a d-ring like yours but it is marked RZM UE8.
Just a opinion. T

Thanks T. I checked the D rings on this belt again, and there are no signs at all of any markings on them, so these are pre-RZM. No markings either on the dagger hanger D ring, but it is pebbled on both sides. I hope to find a gilt cross-strap to go with this rig - thanks for your reply Regards Russell

That dagger hanger would seem to be the style designed for marching, The kind normal sold as 3pc SA hangers, looks kinda neat on the belt. Although the rest I can't offer any opinion in because I don't really know a dang thing about belts The Dagger collecting has my mind cluttered enough that why I observed the hanger style, but can't tell yea a damn thing bout the belt itself. So being that it(the hanger) is permently on that belt it would lead me to believe it was a belt use for dress or parades. Photo was orignally posted by forum member Walter, hope he don't mind me reposting for your reference.

Now I read all your original post and see you already made the connection to the 3 pcs hanger, my mistake for wasting your time and mine. I'm to picture oriented, look post then read. But I agree with Tommy it is probably a Marine SA belt, and I believe it was for parades or dress.
