Two unusual foresters hunting cutlasses. One has a beautiful damascus blade with a crown emblem attached to the clamshell. I do not know whom this emblem represents. The makers name is stamped with a crown emblem and lettering STOCK EISENACH MODEL 1912 GES. GESCHUTZT. The plain cutlass is stamped with the Clemen & Jung (shield with Z) both sides of the blade are etched. The grips are ivory with three acorns with leaves on the obverse, and large round balls on the reverse. The clamshell has a silver emblem of Thuringen Rare encountered patterns
This same type German Hunting Dagger is presently being offered for sale on ebay listed as RARE CEREMONIAL GERMAN HUNTING DAGGER SWORD EARLYitem number 662243794

Hubertus would it be safe to assume the C&J dagger is from the 3 reich era as the shield has a swaz being held by the Lion?? Two very nice daggers Also did a search on e-bay and can't find item is the # correct

Ed,
I should think that the Clemen and Jung was a Imperial/Weimar piece, used during the 3rd Reich and updated with the Thuringen shield, all period done I'm sure.
Beautiful cutlasses Ralph as usual, not seen these two patterns before, got to love that Damascus Stock Eisenach, I wonder what "Model 1912" means, what period would you put this piece, certainly a most deluxe hirschfnger, lots of hand finishing I'm thinking. The C&J is also great, condition looks superb. Both scabbards are interesting, I haven't seen this type of scabbard on such deluxe German hunting daggers before, many Austrian pieces are well known with this type of scabbard.
Nice
Gary
