That was a lot of money for a bayonet that has the wrong frog and the wrong scabbard and maybe the wrong blade etch. I can't tell about the etch from the photographs.

An example of "irrational exuberance" at its worst.

Even with the wrong frog and scabbard, I was initially interested in this. I don't recall ever seeing a Klitterman & Moog etched blade before. However, I was unable to find any info about K&M etched blades and decided to pass.
A treasure or a sow! Who knows?

Denny
I had the same thoughts, but $450 for an iffy bayonet. Wish I could have seen it up close.

See you at the SOS show.

I initiall thought it completely plausible that a small manufacturer like K&M might have bought an etched blade from Eickhorn. But look at the top two pictures the seller has, both seem to show an apparent poor fitting grip plate.

The obverse side seems to have a space near the crossguard where you can see silver. The second picture (top left) shows the reverse grip plate that has an even poorer fit just above the crossguard.

It would have been great to examine the piece in hand but from the pictures I've seen enough to make me stay away. It almost appears the two grip plates are different sizes and the the reverse rivets might be asymetrical, not sure but it looks so. Would also have been great to see better pics of the grip plates close up.
