Hi thanks Paul and Patrice for all of your help. The dimensions are 53mm in height, 43mm in width, and the eagle is 50mm. I don't know much about medals but upon checking, these measurements are within the acceptable range for such medals. The medal is unmarked. Any opinions are greatly appreciated,Thanks and cheers, Ryan S

Ryan,
It is actually harder to tell if such a badge is original or not, when you have no maker marked. Why ? Simply because all makers usually have their own and unique characteristics.
For instance, I'm 100% certain that this badge was NOT produced by JMME, Juncker, Osang, Assmann, B+N L, Deumer or by GWL. It doesn't have any of these makers unique characteristics. However, there was 1 other manufacturer for these badges and this was Meybauer.
A very hard call and personally, I wouldn't touch it, not because it is fake but simply because I have never seen a Maybauer and can't tell if it is real or not.
Hope this help !
Here's a link with most of the Paratrooper producers and you will see that the badge being showned here, doesn't resemble any of those being listed on Lorenzo's reference page.

Ryan,

Here's a Meybauer Paratrooper badge and it doesn't look at all like the one being posted here.

My advice.............turn around ! Wink
This unmarked badge has none of the specific characteristics being showned by 8 different manufacturers.
Unless I have forgotten some unknown manufacturer..........I don't like it !
Would like to hear other members what they think about it !

Ryan,

Here's how an unmarked Paratrooper early tombac badge should look like.
Not even close ! Notice the bird's claws, eye and beak.

Hi Patrice I will certainly bow to your superior knowledge and expertise. You know your stuff. Okay guys is it at least a decent repro? The quality of the badge and the weight are amazing to a layman. Thanks and cheers, Ryan
