I know we have said this before, the real ones just never need to be discussed.

Joe,
If I may make a suggestion...please do not use that black stand you show to display your helmet(s). It will ruin your liner. I use a stand that will go right up and through the opening in the liner and rest on the helmet shell itself, padded so it doesn't scratch the inner dome paint. That reduces the stress on the old and fragile leather to zero.
You are building a very nice and impressive collection. Congratulations.
Cheers,
Darryl

Hi
I just use the stand for the photos. The helmets sit on the shelve by themselves. I find the m40 helmets heavier than the m42 and m35 for some reason. But thanks for idea , it is good one. Probable try it in the future.
Thanks Joe

Hi Yes my two m40 helmets are "Q" helmets. Does anybody know why this manufacture of helmet seems heavier than the other helmets? Is the type steel they use? I am just guessing here.

That's a screamer. I hate to use a well worn cliche but if it could only talk....

Very nice helmet indeed. I used to own a very similar helmet from the 6. SS-Division "Nord".
