I have an Israeli M1949 bayonet which I tried to mount on an Israeli K98. It would not mount and as I examined it I saw it had no provision for the cleaning rod. After I took the rod off the rifle the bayonet would mount. Is this normal for the M1949 bayonet? Or is this possibly for another weapon?
