want to bid on this K98 but have a question on the style of the number "3". Should they be the same style on the blade as the scabbard?

Thanks for your help

Regards Sepp

hi sepp,,,it looks unusual, but i believe it is correct,,,can you believe how hard it would be to match a "mismatch" bayonet and scabbard???...if it were me,i would bid on it,,,Robert

Robert...Thank You...I understand what you mean, but the style of the number 3 is just different than the number 3 style on the scabbard...I would have thought they would marked both at the same time, using the same number 3 stamp. Or the numbers were added to a bayonet with out any numbers to match, and to increase the price?

Then again I see the 1939 on the scabbard match the bayonet...just have looked a several different K98's and the style of numbers are the same on both,(or at least the ones i have looked at) Thanks for the response.

Sepp
