Today I picked up Mr Wingen. It is my 17th SA dagger. The blade is pristine with only runner marks. No pitting or dark spots and very nice graining. The handle is undented and the scabbard has most all of it's anodizing and laquer. The pommel nut and screws are unturned. It also came with its original hanger.

Ya I see the light! I was being lazy, it was easier to put them there than to resize them.

That's a great looking SA dagger Bob!
Have you got number 18 in your sights yet??
Are you collecting by maker, or just whatever takes your fancy?

Regards
Russell

Actually I am going to look at some more tomorrow. A guy from the local VFW show today said he had about 40 SA's at his house. Maybe I will get lucky??

I just saw your other question Russell. I collect condition first, then maker.

With 40 to choose from, you'll probably come home with more than one!

Good eye! Nice dagger you found. I love the antique look of the grip. And of course the blade is as good as it gets. Thanks for taking the time to show it off.

Thanks for all the kind words guys. Hopefully Russell I will come home with all of them! He always sells at this show and yesterday I happened to ask if he had any SA's. He mentioned he had a couple at home. I askked if I could visit and look at them. He said at one time he had around 90 and said he had maybe 40 left. Gonna be hard to hide that cash withdrawal from the wife!!!

Well I went to see the daggers today. He didn't have 40 he had about 6 RZM's in basically unissued condition. He had 2 7/85s and in 7/66 1941 with an anodized scabbard. They were very noce with excellent graining and very dark mottos and RZM marks. He had a chained SS with portapee and an un marked blade. I think he wanted around $7500 and he had an RZM chained NSKK whish he wanted around $3,500 for. He also had an Anton Wingen 3/4 ROhm which he wanted $1450 for. I took some pics and posted them in the Rohm section.
