I was wondering just how rare the Richtofen 1917/18 Cuffband is? I personally do not remember one for sale in the past. Also what might the value be? Mike

I do not remember one for sale recently either. I do know that they are the pinnacle of Luftwaffe CTs. I do know of one being sold on another forum by a leading collector.

I have a very rare WingCo to "Richthofen" JG1
with the gold Russia braid also a Boelcke Comm.
I know of a Richthofen Comm WITH an issue envelope!!! with the recipients name in pencil but unreadable.Unless it is now sold it was about $2800 Wink

There is one for a lot less for sale on the Estand(WAF) at this time, by a well known and respected collector... FYI

Hi
The one here in UK is about $2400 unless
you can screw something out of the seller.
I think there are a couple of moth nips
but otherwise it is in good shape.Maker
marked and dated on the fold on the reverse
Cheers

I agree that it is an awesome example so I purchased it. Just got it in the mail today. After checking it out I noticed that it is the same cuffband that is pictured in Gordon Williamson's excellent cufftitle book. Ex George Peterson collection. Also ex Mike Heuer collection. Two of the greatest Luftwaffe collections ever assembled! The internet is great for aquiring great items that otherwise you would never have seen. Mike
