i was at a ww2 vets house he showed me 3guns he sent home from germany there was a police luger in nice police holster a french double barrel shotgun and what i am calling a stalking rifle made in germany barrel tilts up like a shotgun with lever under trigger guard settriggers oct barrel cheek peace on stock under the forarm is the caliber i can almost make out eather 7.6mm or 7.8mm it is a rimmed cartarige and there are fold down sights on barrel sorry i did not get pics thanks for the help need to find right ammo for it

Hello Michael, I would not take anyone's guess as to which is the correct caliber for this weapon on any internet site. You should take it to a gunsmith who can cast the chamber and tell you for certain. It's inexpensive and you can keep your hand and face intact when it fires. A wrong caliber guess can be fatal. Did the vet have any marked ammo for the rifle? I wish you good luck...too dangerous to take a 'shot' at the answer, in my opinion. Mark

There are so many possible calibers for this rifle, guessing would be almost impossible. The easiest thing to do would be to make a clay or wax cast of the chamber. If you had the measurements of the cast, I could probably find the caliber for you.
