Thanks for the reply. Attached is a photo of the catch. There is some corrosion? on the head of the eagle and the details are not very clear. Were these a nickle finish origionally?
Can they be cleaned? Should it be left alone?

Nice original A.D. Schwerdt PAB. Put some vasoline on it for 24 hours and then wipe it off.

Thanks for the help guys. Joe-- The web site suggested is very helpful also. there are great photos to compare with. I am going to try the vasoline suggestion.
