Hi guys, Since the forum is not very active now before Xmas,I wanted to ask you the following question: What is your favorite dress bayonet/fire bayonet TM - and why?
To answer for myself, I have to say WKC and Horster are my favorites. WKC because the WKC pieces I have are of the highest quality. I like Horster because all the pieces I have from Horster have very good quality plating. BTW: WKC is my favorite also because of this: http://daggers.infopop.cc/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/172097573/m/2940004585JAN

I have so many favorites, but this may be number one in my collection. I will post another tomorrow. Its a Horst Wolff distributor etched on the spine. Short blade with a blued scabbard.

I'm astounded that Terry's fave is this one although I like that it's a fire piece Not that I don't like it myself but let's not fool ourselves, Terry's got a lot of logos in his stash! What about that Hartkopf?

Hi Billy and Terry, those are some very nice TMs/Distributor marks! I can see why you do not collect by types. I look forward to seeing more pictures from you. I have totally forgotten about my Hack-Werke. Here's the pic but I know you have seen it already. JAN

Even though it is a commonly seen trademark, I like the big Eickhorn TM. I think it is neat because Eickhorn means squirrel and the company used the little rodent as a logo. Putting a sword in his hand and incorporating the name into the blade was just marketing genius IMHO.

Jan, this is a tough one. I've got one or two by rarity that I like. The first is on a Pioneer, it's the only one I've seen by that maker that was complete. The second is a spine marked distributor on a stag Eick. But my all time favorite is a Voos with the snake around the stump.

On the Fire side, I've always been partial to this Johann Leupold JOHANNISWERK, Bayreuth; Gefrees, Bavaria.

Here are a couple more. Steven Nice TM, I have been looking for one of those for years Billy Nice triangle, had a chance to buy one of those but couldn't come to terms with the guy Denny I don't think I ever told Denny I seen the Karl S. before he did but was trying to conserve my spending, probably one of my bigger mistakes.

I have seen several of those Fire helments but the stamping has been bad or they have been double stamped.

T,
They're not often seen in any condition. This one has super blade but the grip plates (those early unusual types) aren't in great shape. I'd love to know what the initials stood for & whether this was some sort of fire bayonet or that was just the logo.

Well guys, you're always posting TM's I've never seen. Denny, on the sorta Spitzer, it looked like a cross between a pig and a possum with an afro. I also liked the P. Lungstrass, but the Hartkc I think is my new favorite.
Terry, you don't see that spelling of Horster with the "a" very often. I did see it once on an FW sawtooth, and it sold high.
Steve.

Here are a couple Alcoso bayonets w/distributor William Gunther, Dresden etched on the spine. The top bayonet scabbard has WGD stamped on the reverse of the frog (see picture). This bayonet is on page 47 of German Clamshells and other bayonets by Gary Walker and Ron Weinand.

Wow, when starting this thread, I had no idea it would pick up like this. You guys have some amazing TMs there. I have to admit that my favorites would be the following: 1. Pumeto 2. Baron 3. E. Scharff - Kober & Co. 4. Rudolf Schmidt 5. L+E with fire helmet (not sure what maker that is) Keep them coming guys! JAN

L&E was a distributor of Fire equipment. Jan we have listed some of the rarer TM's and distributors. As George stated Even though it is a commonly seen trademark, I like the big Eickhorn TM. I think it is neat because Eickhorn means squirrel and the company used the little rodent as a logo. Putting a sword in his hand and incorporating the name into the blade was just marketing genius IMHO. I totally agree, all TM's are interesting. As I said earlier I like them all. I think I've only sold a couple in my 20+ years of collecting. Will I ever sell my collection, probably not. I'll make my spouse worry about them.

Here's a WKC TM, one of my all-time favorites. I know all of you have seen it hundreds of times, but it's a very nice one nevertheless. It's on a quite rare long (narrow blood groove) and double edged tip dress bayonet. JAN

Thanks Terry Much appreciated. The more dress bayonets I own, the more I want to have! I think I have been bitten by the bug a long time ago, but have just started realizing it. There is just so much missing from my collection that I have a long way to go. JAN
