Hi
Can you please tell me if you think this degen is an original piece?
Should be noticed that there isn't a manufactures mark on the degen.
Personally I do not like it - but never say never...
Regards Jesper

There are a number of red flags. The knot looks new and probably is. The scabbard is a repaint-nice but a repaint. The worse thing is the ball on top of the pommel-to me this suggests the piece has been apart. Many of these swords had peened over tangs. If you grind or drill off the peened tang to remove the P guard to rework/create the runics and then replate the hilt fittings -one way to put it back together is to thread the tang and put a threaded pommel top on the sword to fasten things back. It looks to me like this is what was done here. I have seen another similiar one reworked like this.

What a waste of a good sword.
