Out of a veteran's family, I just got a lot of SS insignia. Two sets of these boards, lightly white marked J.E.R. on the back lower edge and one set has been sewn in and removed. Does any one know which manufacturer marked their boards in this manner? Ron Weinand Weinand Militaria

Very nice boards.I have never seen any marked before, very interesting.Definately unissued because the button slot on the officers is still tightly closed.

There is a pair of used Major Transport Boards and this single Major Collar Tab that he glued into his scrapbook:

These are original markings on original shoulderboards. But cannot say who is this makers name. A longer time ago in germany I got some stuff out from an old tailor store, there where some boards with the same stamping.

Thanks Robert, I thought this marking was a little unusual and have not seen it before, but glad you can show me that it is an F. instead of an E. It was so faint that I couldn't make it out clearly. BTW, how scarce is the blue piping on SS boards? Ron Weinand Weinand Militaria

Ron, all SS boards are rar for my point of view even with the blue piping. And you have also a nice NCO rank with the right pin on it with the from me prefered style.

I'm sure this is a silly question, but on the SS-Oberscharfuhrer of Transport shoulder straps, are there button holes in them? I cannot clearly make them out.

Tim, sorry I missed your question. Yes, there is NO Buttonhole, but a thread remains from what looks like a button was sewn on the top of the boards. Maybe they just weren't finished. I still have most of these and will be posting them in the near future. Too busy working on the book. Ron Weinand Weinand Militaria
