Hello
I would like to collect as much opinions as it possible.
We are lack of experience with such not often seen pieces, here in Russia.

Thank you in advance.
Good Luck.
Alex.

Hi , are those casting marks on the back of that eagle? And on the Eickhorn that I have there is a different pommel screw.

Hello and Thanks.
Rob, do you mean this "1" is leading towards ? Hard to expect it could be always done symmetrically ?
as for the pommel screw, I was told it is correct to the early pieces of Eickhorn.

Good Luck.
Alex.

PS: and the main feelings will be... ? If better pics could help ? I'll be able to produce it.

I believe that slotted pommel screws are rare but not unknown on originals.

Im not an expert in these daggers. But
all these pieces looks very good to me.
But such a pommel screw I had never seen before.

@tobau..You know a lot of these daggers, why didn`t you post your opinion about it?

OK. Thanks to all for their contributions.
Question about the crossguard. I suppose there is a different between Eickhorn and Alcoso, am I right ?
The most obviously seen part for me is a wings tips.

Good Luck.
Alex.

PS: Unfortunately, don't have any of Alcoso crossguard to put next to mine.

They are different, but eagle's head is more informative.

Hello, again me
Have a look at new pic. What do think about the way How the hanger's rings were attached.
From my point of view, not too neat as I could expect at the piece wasn't made at conveyor.

Thanks for your interest.
Good Luck.
Alex.

PS: @ Sokol, will great to have the comparative collage instead of the brief remark.
Thank you in advance.

Here you go
Alcoso on the left.
Eick on the right. Notice the bird details: wings, heads, legs

From what I see I believe this is an original example.
Pics can sometimes be decieving. My first thought was that this was too "pot-bellied" but when these things are put back together they never seem to go together as nicely as they did from the factory. They were never made to be taken down as much as people do today. A virgin dagger is a rarity anymore. The chest piece is slightly bowed in pic#2 and I think that and the angle give a poor impression.

I am with Paul. Dismantling has harmed this dagger, but how to determine originality of GO/Diplo daggers without it?

I have seen a genuine Eickhorn GO very similar as this dagger with the same sign on the scabbard band-eye .About the pic's,this can be an authentic dagger. The eick grip plates are more in white-brighter as the alcosos, this grip plates here are correct for eickhorn, the alc's tint often in a yellow colour.
But nothing is better as a hand inspection.

Ok My thoughts.
1 Eickhorn dagger ferruel has cast in lines whereas Alcoso are engraved.
2.Eickhorn spanner bolt usually found with pig latin number "Roman Numeral style" instead of convential number ( This info from Wittmann)
3.Wing tips much more upswept on Eickhorn.
4. Scabbard band holes sans protruding inserts where as Alcoso more like the scabbard pictured.
I personally DON'T like the spanner bolt screw driver slot instead of the two hole take down. This is only my opinion and am open to any other points of view.

I would not pay the big bucks for this dagger-too many non-textbook things about it--and when I look at it-the bells start to ring.

In volume three of SCREWS & BOLTS of the THIRD RIECH By JERRY PIEDMONT,it states that EICKHORN did use slotted pommel caps. Wink

OK.
Thank you very much to all of you.
I have this dagger in hands and it looks as a convincing thing for me but Who am I ? only a year next to this Hobby.
I appreciate all comments and thoughts were given.

Good Luck.
Alex.

PS: Dear Houston, perhaps against the rules ?

Alcoso made the most. Eickhorn is probably the most popular. A minty Eickhorn can easily be $5500.00--6000.00 +

FROM MY EXPERIENCE, Alcoso had two different GO crossguards. The very first examples (numbers below 100) have a more detailed and better quality crossguard.
