Hello,

I new to dagger collecting and have a few questions on Red Cross Officer's Daggers...Are there many fakes of these?...Is there certain things that the fakes have or don't have to help set them apart from the originals?

Many new red cross dagger fakes are on ebay, but they do not have the plastic grip looking original yet. a original will have a plastic grip with some good discoloring. you will see the plastic grip age like a fine wine. after nearly 70 years the old plastic grips will discolor. check out ebay past auction. original red cross #330162078603. you will see different grip color spots in photo, some parts of grip may be more orange then other parts of grip, also original crossguards are more well defined then fakes. as for the blade itself, no blades should be RZM marked, if they are RZM marked, they are fakes, a nice original blade should have some nice crossgraining.
