I picked this sword up from a relative of the Original owner a few months ago. The only info he had was that LT Comm Mitchell was in Naval Intelligence and that at the time he was given this sword he was stationed somewhere in MA , and, he made Capt by the end of WWII. Made in USA mark. I've notice an extreme rise in price on these Navy swords of late. I had nothing better to do tonight so I figured I'd show off a few Items!

This was always a great design, and one that is still in use today. But sadly the current modern ones don't compare to the older ones of even a few decades ago.
