Nice selection of Chinese daggers.
Welcome to the forum.
What do you know about the Chinese daggers with the Sami grip rather than the toruise shell?

Hi jcwater,
Here is a drawing from the blade. I tried to translate it, but didn't get very far. I was told that the writting on the blade is very old.

Hello Mikee,
I am asked by jcwater to reply on his behalf. Myself is a bayonet & military knives collector.
I beleived that you are using a translator, thank you so much for the effort.
The dagger that you shown does not look like Chinese, not so for the 'characters' either. But I have no idea where it is from. From my experience I would say that it is not from South East Asia (Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia) too. Maybe Baltic area, or West Asia (Turkey and its neighborhood) ?
With best regards,
Keith

Neat daggers, however I am VERY weary about buying anything Chinese due to the country allows everything to be faked!

Fakes are not only made in China. There are fake bayonets & 3rd Reich weapons made in Eastern Europe, India, Parkistan, Japan etc. As with buying antiques of any kind, one should possess reasonable knowledge before spending money on any purchase.

jcwater. There is a dagger on ebay, I have posted the link, this is the dagger I inquired about with the Sami grip material. Also please note the unusual pommel. The one on Ebay is not mine, but mine is the same. I had understood the Sami grips indicated use during the Japanese occupation. Can you clarify what this dagger is. Chinese DaggerThank you Jim
