I’m posting this for a friend who’s somewhat ‘digitally challenged’.
He recently turned some goodies out of the woods (Luft.2. Heer, RAD EM and HJ daggers and a 1937 dated Luger). None of the stuff had been dicked with and was purchased from a US veteran’s widow who shared he picked the items in France after the war.

The SA dagger handle was just mixed in with the items. I’ve looked as closely as possible on the outside to see if a ‘patch’ was accomplished where the normal SA roundel would have been but I can’t see that there was ever one. A look down inside the handle does not indicate there was a hole ever there either.

What’s the deal??

That sure looks like it was done in a garage somewhere. The grip is not symetrical at all and it looks as if lead is holding in the crooked diamond. Maybe one of the HJ was trying to show up our boyscouts
