I have a nice early SA with nickel fittings, anodized scabbard etc. Maker is Artur Melcher in a diamond logo ARMESO. Just wondering how rare the maker is. Anyone?? Thanx

Hey Jeronimo,
That maker is about as rare as you can get. You should buy a copy of the McSarr reference,, its the best $15.00 you will ever spend.

You can buy your copy from the moderator of this section, Mike McAlvanah. Wink

Is the lower cross guard stamped with a small "wf"?

Thank you Eric!
Yes, I will get the McSarr reference.
Lower crossguard is stamped Westfalen "wf", I thought wf was a common group mark. Or is it something special in combination with an ARMESO dagger?

The blade is a little grey, but it's an ARMESO none the less!

The buyer brought it to my table and asked me if I had ever seen the TM. He said he bought it off a table at the back of the show and paid $400.00. I told him it was probably the dagger buy of the show for rarity. I tried to get it as he was just buying it for an SA, but I didn't have one as nice to trade with cash, so he took it home.
