No obvious red flags I can see, apart from the rim of the peak. Is that a line of stitching I see? That is very unusual.

A gebirgs engineer's cap is unusual, but not extraordinary. Higher level Gebirgs units generally had attached Engineer units who were entitled to wear the edelweiss.

I have artillery, medical, engineer and mountain troop piped such caps, all with edelweiss.

Hope this helps.

David!

Hat is a real late-war Pekuro, but it appears the sweatband has been replaced, as it lacks the velvet Stirndruckfrei feature.

Maybe its just me, but the piping looks more dark-green (Administration) to me than black.
You just have to be careful that the hat is not a postwar re-badge (and yes, an Admin officer attached to a GJ unit could wear the Eidelweiss). It does appear that the eagle is placed high on this one, and I don't see any extra holes--always a good sign.
